Founded in 2002 - The Potts Point Partnership is a not-for-profit, apolitical organisation focused on supporting and promoting the local businesses of the precinct.
We currently have a membership of approximately 120 local businesses, across a range of business types: 4% of our membership are Pubs and Clubs, 18% Cafes and Restaurants, 7% Hotels, 5% community groups and further representation across retail, professional services, art galleries/theatres etc.
We have a strong working relationship with local government and work closely with the City of Sydney to advocate for our local businesses and promote the precinct. We are the organisation advocating for our local community on the area's key issues, including noise, garbage, traffic and safety concerns.
We will focus on three key areas to Build a Better Precinct for businesses and residents:
Building a strategic framework
The local community faces a number of ongoing challenges, particularly in areas such as noise, late-night trading and social issues. As the business community’s representative, the Partnership takes a leading role in these debates, utilising a strategic advocacy approach with the ultimate aim of achieving the Partnership’s vision.
Building a brand
A better profile for local area means better business for our members. We will develop and implement PR, marketing and advertising actions to raise the area’s profile. For example, over the last few years, the Partnership has delivered certain projects including the Shop Local campaigns and the Kings Cross Festival.
We aim to make it easier for our members to do business, and provide opportunities for them to grow their business network. We offer members a range of support services and organise regular networking and educational opportunities.
