This Christmas in Potts Point
Why not support local businesses in the Potts Point area by shopping local for your christmas presents this year? There is a great variety of retailers, restaurants and bars with amazing and unique offers.
Businesses will be open later on Thursdays - some till 9pm. Window decorations will be the focus of a store front competition to be judged by local resident and Interiors Editor Amanda Talbot ( as seen on Channel 9 show Top design).
Local charities will also be supported with stores collecting for The WaySide Chapel, The Jesuit Refugee Centre,St John's Rough Edges and the Mathew Talbot Hostel.

In the spirit of friendly neighbourhood rivalry competition, the Potts Point Partnership has announced a Xmas Decoration Competition, open to the stores in the 2011 postcode.
It's going to be judged by local resident and trend forecaster/design guru/magazine editor AMANDATALBOT who has just moved back into the 'hood after an extended stay in London [10 years] working with a veritable 'who's who' of the design world including……..

Anyone who has lived around the Potts Point, Darlinghurst, East Sydney area will be familiar with cafe DOV a legendary foodie destination from the moment it opened its doors, across the road from the old Darlo Jail House [in those days, the TAFE Fashion Design School headquarters].

With an interior fit-out by the uber-design team at BKH blueprint is a bright, sparkling showcase for stunning gifts & homewards, sourced from all around the world. Owner, Margaret Butler is also an importer and says that ......“so often when I travel overseas I see great product that’s not available here. Sydney, as a global city, deserves the same variety in homewares as Tokyo, New York or Milan'...... and blueprint certainly delivers on that front.

how totally genius is this gem of an idea........ crumpled city maps??!
I mean, how many times have you tried to refold a map exactly the right way, and given up in frustration? well those crafty, designery Italians have come up with a solution - its a crumpled map made out of some kind of hard-wearing, laminated paper (like the bibs you get when eating ribs or lobster in the states) and IT NEVER HAS TO BE RE-FOLDED! just SCHRUNCHED into your pocket or bag or glovebox.
